Rubidium abundances of galactic disk stars

چکیده

Spectroscopic determinations of Rubidium abundances were conducted by applying the spectrum fitting method to Rb I 7800 line for an extensive sample ~500 late-type dwarfs as well giants (including Hyades cluster stars) belonging galactic disk population, with aim establishing behaviour [Rb/Fe] ratio stars in metallicity range -0.6<[Fe/H]<+0.3. An inspection resulting revealed that they show a systematic Teff-dependent trend at >5500K; this means results mid-G F Sun) are not reliable (i.e., more or less overestimated), which might be due some imperfect treatment surface convection classical model atmospheres. As such, it was decided confine only late-G and K Teff<5500K adopt solar-system (meteoritic) value reference abundance. The vs.[Fe/H] relations derived field turned out consistent each other, showing gradual increase decrease [Fe/H] (with d[Rb/Fe]/d[Fe/H] gradient ~-0.4 around solar metallicity), is favourably compared theoretical prediction chemical evolution models. Accordingly, study could confirm anomalous (tending subsolar but steeply increasing toward supersolar metallicity) recently reported M dwarf -0.3<[Fe/H]<+0.3.

Sodium abundances in nearby disk stars ⋆

We present sodium abundances for a sample of nearby stars. All results have been derived from NLTE statistical equilibrium calculations. The influence of collisional interactions with electrons and hydrogen atoms is evaluated by comparison of the solar spectrum with very precise fits to the Na I line cores. The NLTE effects are more pronounced in metal-poor stars since the statistical equilibri...

Oxygen in Galactic Disk Stars : non - LTE abundances from the 777 nm O I triplet

Oxygen abundances for a large sample of dwarf and giant stars kinematically selected to be part of the Galactic thin and thick disks have been determined from a non-LTE analysis of the O I triplet lines at 777 nm. The abundance analysis was performed using the infrared flux method temperature scale, trigonometric surface gravities, and accurate atomic data. Within this framework, the ionization...

Vertical distribution of Galactic disk stars ⋆

Nearly 400 Tycho-2 stars have been observed in a 720 square degree field in the direction of the North Galactic Pole with the high resolution echelle spectrograph ELODIE. Absolute magnitudes, effective temperatures, gravities and metallicities have been estimated, as well as distances and 3D velocities. Most of these stars are clump giants and span typical distances from 200 pc to 800 pc to the...

Rubidium in Metal-Deficient Disk and Halo Stars

We report the first extensive study of stellar Rb abundances. High-resolution spectra have been used to determine, or set upper limits on, the abundances of this heavy element and the associated elements Y, Zr, and Ba in 44 dwarfs and giants with metallicities spanning the range −2.0 < [Fe/H] < 0.0. In metal-deficient stars Rb is systematically overabundant relative to Fe; we find an average [R...

Metal abundances of A-type stars in three galactic clusters

Investigations have been carried out for 11 A stars in young open clusters (α Per, Coma, and Praesepe) and three field stars by means of high resolution spectroscopy. Detailed abundance analyses have been made for Mg, Ca, Sc, Cr, Fe, and Ni. The results are discussed in the framework of element stratification processes as invoked by time-dependent diffusion mechanisms in Am stars. The youngest ...
